Underwater hybrid cable combining Cat5 network pairs with additional conductors. PUR jacket for ROV and subsea instrument Ethernet plus power or signal in one run.
The underwater hybrid cable with Cat5 network wire combines Cat5-equivalent shielded twisted pairs for Ethernet or serial communication with additional power or signal conductors in a single flexible PUR-jacketed run. This cost-effective design suits observation-class ROVs and compact subsea instruments where Gigabit Ethernet (100BASE-TX) and on-board power distribution must share a common tether or umbilical cable.
| Parameter | Specification |

| Additional Cores | Power or signal conductors (count and CSA per spec) |
| Conductor Material | Stranded tinned copper |
| Shielding | Individual foil + drain (pairs) + overall braid |
| Outer Jacket | Polyurethane (PUR) |
| Bandwidth | 100 MHz (Cat5 / 100BASE-TX) |

Cat5 (not Cat5e) is rated for 100BASE-TX (100 Mbps). Cat5e supports 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) over up to 100 m. If you need Gigabit Ethernet, specify Cat5e or Cat6. For most ROV applications 100 Mbps is sufficient for IP camera streams and control data.
Yes. Cat6 can be substituted for Cat5 in this hybrid cable at a slight additional cost. Cat6 pairs have a larger twist pitch and stricter pair separation, which may increase the cable diameter by 1--2 mm. Contact us to confirm the new OD for your application.
