Tinned Copper Underwater Power Cable | Multi-Core Subsea Power PUR

Multi-core tinned copper underwater power cable with PUR jacket. Excellent corrosion resistance for ROV power supply, subsea equipment, and marine electrical systems.

Product introduction

Tinned Copper Multi-Core Underwater Power Cable -- PUR Jacket

The tinned copper underwater power cable uses stranded tinned copper conductors in preference to bare copper, providing significantly improved corrosion resistance at cable cut ends, splice points, and connector terminations in seawater environments. Available in single-core and multi-core configurations with conductor cross-sections from 0.5mm² to 25mm² and PUR outer jacket, this cable is suitable for ROV power supply, subsea electrical distribution, and marine equipment power wiring.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between tinned and bare copper conductor?

Tinned copper has a thin tin coating on each strand. In seawater, bare copper oxidises rapidly at cut ends, increasing contact resistance and creating a corrosion pathway through the insulation. Tinned copper is far more resistant to this oxidation, maintaining lower contact resistance and longer service life at all exposed points (terminations, splices, connector pins).

Can this cable be manufactured with a steel wire armour?

Yes. A galvanised steel wire armour (SWA) or stainless steel wire armour (SSWA) can be added over the PUR inner jacket for installation in areas at risk of mechanical damage, trawl impact, or fish bite. Specify the armour type and bedding material when ordering.
