6 Conductors 16AWG Subsea PUR Cable | ROV High-Current Power

6 conductors 16AWG subsea polyurethane cable. High current 6-core for ROV thruster power, multi-phase motor drives, and subsea power distribution.

Product introduction

6 Conductors 16AWG Subsea PUR Cable for ROV Thruster Power

This 6-core subsea cable with 6 x 16AWG conductors in a PUR jacket provides high current capacity for ROV multi-thruster systems, dual 3-phase motor drives, and subsea power distribution networks. At approximately 13A per conductor (subsea derated), the 6 cores can simultaneously supply two independent 3-phase brushless thruster motors or power 6 high-current subsea loads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this cable supply two independent 3-phase BLDC thrusters?

Yes. The 6 conductors can be divided into two 3-phase groups (U1/V1/W1 and U2/V2/W2) to supply two independent brushless DC thruster motors from a single cable run. This is a common configuration for compact ROV tether design.

Should the cable be shielded for thruster power applications?

An overall braid shield is recommended when the thruster power cable runs adjacent to sensitive signal cables. The shield should be grounded at the ESC end only to prevent EMI from PWM switching noise interfering with sonar, cameras, or navigation sensors.
