This underwater LAN hybrid cable integrates 16 conductors at 24AWG (power and signal) with 4 twisted pairs at 26AWG (Ethernet/LAN), delivering a compact, high-performance solution for ROV tether and subsea inspection deployments. The polyurethane (PUR) outer sheath ensures exceptional resistance to seawater, abrasion, and hydrolysis, making it ideal for demanding underwater environments.

Can this cable transmit Gigabit Ethernet underwater?

Yes. The 4 x 2 x 26AWG twisted pairs support Cat5e-equivalent performance, enabling 100/1000 Mbps Ethernet transmission at distances up to 100 m per segment. For longer runs, signal repeaters or fibre optic hybrid variants are recommended.

What is the maximum operating depth?

The standard PUR-jacketed version is rated for shallow to mid-depth subsea use. With an optional Kevlar braid and armour layer, it can be customised for depths up to 6,000 m. Please specify your depth requirement when enquiring.

Is Kevlar reinforcement available?

Yes. Kevlar aramid yarn braiding can be added to enhance tensile strength and enable neutrally buoyant deployment -- a common requirement for ROV tether applications. Contact us for custom tensile load specifications.
