2x1.0mm2 + 6x2x0.22mm2 Underwater Power/Signal Cable | ROV Tether

2x1.0mm2 power + 6 twisted pairs 0.22mm2 signal underwater cable. PUR jacket, 6-channel signal transmission, ideal for ROV and subsea instrumentation control systems.

Product introduction

2x1.0mm2 + 6x2x0.22mm2 Underwater Power and Signal Cable

This multi-pair underwater cable combines 2 x 1.0mm2 power conductors with 6 individually shielded twisted signal pairs at 0.22mm2, all enclosed in a durable PUR jacket. The six signal channels enable complex control and instrumentation functions -- such as sensor feedback, RS-485 communications, and solenoid valve control -- alongside power delivery in a single, drag-minimising cable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this cable support RS-485 communications?

Yes. The shielded twisted pairs are fully compatible with RS-485 differential signalling. With the signal pair characteristics and proper termination, RS-485 runs up to several hundred metres are achievable.

Is the overall shielding grounded at both ends?

For subsea applications, we recommend single-end grounding to avoid ground loop issues. The individual pair shields can be floated at the remote end and grounded at the control unit end. Our technical team can advise on the optimal grounding strategy for your application.
