Circular Series 12 16 25 Contact Underwater Connectors -- COBH COIL | IP68 | 7000m | High Density

Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd Circular Series 12, 16, and 25-contact high-density underwater connectors (COBH/COIL). IP68, 7000m depth. SubConn Circular 12/16/25 compatible.

Product introduction

Circular Series 12, 16, and 25 Contact -- High-Density Underwater Connectors

For complex ROV, AUV, and subsea instrument systems requiring many circuits through a single pressure penetration, Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd offers Circular Series connectors in 12, 16, and 25 contacts. These high-density configurations consolidate power distribution, digital data buses, analog sensors, and ancillary control signals into one robust wet-mateable connection point -- reducing the number of hull penetrations and the associated sealing risk.

High-Density Configuration Comparison

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the 25-pin current derated to 5 A per contact?

With 25 contacts sharing the shell, the thermal load per contact increases. The 5 A derating ensures the connector stays within its thermal operating envelope at full simultaneous load. For circuits requiring more than 5 A, a dedicated lower-count power connector should be used in parallel.

Can contact assignments mix power and signal in the same 25-pin connector?

Yes. A common practice is to designate 4-6 contacts as power (at derated current) and the remaining contacts for signal/data. Contact our engineering team for recommended pin assignment templates for your specific application.

Applications

  • ROV power and signal distribution systems requiring mixed-contact configurations
  • Subsea control systems, offshore platform equipment and underwater instrumentation
  • Marine renewable energy, oceanographic research and environmental monitoring
  • Naval defense systems, sonar arrays and underwater communication networks
  • Diving systems, underwater tools and remotely operated equipment connectivity

Customization Options

  • Customised harness cables with direct moulding to selected polyurethane cables
  • Customer-specified cable types, wire lead lengths and bulkhead thread dimensions
  • Pressure-proof dummy connectors, locking sleeves and additional accessories
  • Certified pressure testing to specific ocean depths with full documentation
