This comprehensive ROV hybrid tether cable integrates three functional systems in one cable: 6 x 18AWG power conductors for thruster and payload power, 3 Cat5E Ethernet twisted pairs for multi-device network connectivity, and 1 x 75-ohm coaxial element for analogue or HD-SDI video transmission. Eliminating the need for multiple separate cables, this all-in-one PUR-jacketed cable dramatically simplifies ROV tether design, reduces drag, and improves system reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 18AWG power section interfere with the Cat5E Ethernet signals?

No. The Cat5E pairs are individually foil-shielded, and an overall braid shield separates all signal elements from the power conductors. Power and data can operate simultaneously without Ethernet performance degradation.

Can a Kevlar braid be added to make this a structural tether?

Yes. Kevlar braid or Vectran can be added between the cable core and the PUR outer jacket, enabling this hybrid cable to function as the mechanical tether as well as the data/power umbilical. Specify your required tensile load and we will calculate the appropriate braid weight.
