PEEK Insert Core for Underwater Connectors | High-Pressure Subsea

PEEK (polyether ether ketone) insert core for subsea and underwater connectors. Excellent chemical resistance, dimensional stability, and high-pressure performance.

Product introduction

PEEK Insert Core for Subsea and Underwater Connectors

The PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) insert core is the contact insulation body at the heart of high-performance subsea and underwater connectors. PEEK is chosen for its exceptional combination of high-pressure performance, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability -- essential in deep-sea environments where the insert must maintain precise contact alignment under hundreds of bar of hydrostatic pressure and prolonged exposure to seawater, oils, and cleaning solvents.

Parameter Specification
Material PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)

Key Applications

  • Deep-sea connector insert cores (6,000 m+)
  • High-pressure instrument connector inserts
  • Subsea ROV tether connector insulation bodies
  • Oil & gas subsea connector PEEK inserts
  • PEEK insert replacement for legacy connectors

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is PEEK preferred over other plastics for deep-sea connector inserts?

PEEK outperforms alternative engineering plastics (Delrin, nylon, PTFE) in deep-sea applications due to its superior compressive strength (does not creep under sustained hydrostatic pressure), near-zero water absorption (maintains dimensional accuracy when wet), and broad chemical compatibility. PTFE is softer and prone to cold flow; Delrin absorbs water and swells; nylon loses strength when wet. PEEK maintains contact alignment and electrical isolation throughout the connector's service life.

Can you supply PEEK inserts for legacy or discontinued connector models?

Yes. If you can supply a sample, drawing, or dimension set of the original insert, we can reverse-engineer and manufacture a direct replacement in PEEK. This service is particularly valuable for maintaining legacy ocean instruments and ROV systems where the original manufacturer no longer supplies spares.
