Subminiature Underwater Connectors -- Ultra-Compact Wet-Mateable | IP68 | 7000m | Micro-ROV AUV Sensors

Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd subminiature wet-mateable underwater connectors for micro-ROV, AUV, and compact oceanographic sensors. Significantly smaller and lighter than standard Micro Circular. IP68, 7000m depth.

Product introduction

Subminiature Underwater Connectors -- Ultra-Compact Wet-Mateable Series | IP68 | 7000m | ROV AUV

Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd supplies subminiature underwater connectors -- a step below the standard Micro Circular platform in size -- for ROV, micro-AUV, miniature oceanographic sensor, and compact subsea instrument applications. These connectors offer the same fundamental wet-mateable performance and 7,000 m depth rating as the full-size Micro Circular series, in a significantly smaller and lighter package.

Designed for engineers who need to reduce system weight and housing diameter without compromising depth performance or sealing reliability.

Subminiature Connector vs Micro Circular -- Key Differences

When to Specify Subminiature vs Standard Micro Circular

  • Choose Subminiature when: housing diameter is less than 50 mm, operating voltage does not exceed 300 V, and current per contact does not exceed 5 A
  • Choose Standard Micro Circular (MCBH/MCIL) when: voltage up to 600 V, current up to 10 A, or contact count exceeds 6 is required

Typical Applications

  • Micro-ROV (under 150 mm diameter) thruster and camera connectors
  • Miniature AUV payload and navigation connectors
  • Oceanographic profiling float instrument interfaces
  • Scientific underwater microsensor systems
  • Consumer underwater camera drone connectors
  • Marine biology tagging instrument connectors

Frequently Asked Questions

Are subminiature connectors compatible with standard MCBH/MCIL?

No. Subminiature connectors use a smaller interface and do not mate with standard Micro Circular connectors. They are compatible with SubConn Micro Series and equivalent subminiature standards of the same contact count.

What cable OD range is supported?

Typically 2 mm to 5 mm OD cables. Contact our technical team with your specific cable diameter for back-shell confirmation before ordering.

Is titanium shell standard or an option?

Titanium shell is the standard material for subminiature connectors due to its combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and low weight. Anodized aluminium is available as a lower-cost option.

Applications

  • ROV and AUV underwater vehicle systems requiring compact, reliable connectivity
  • Subsea sensor instrumentation, oceanographic data acquisition platforms
  • Underwater camera, video and LED lighting systems at varying depths
  • Ocean bottom seismic systems and marine renewable energy installations
  • Naval systems, diving equipment and offshore infrastructure monitoring

Customization Options

  • Custom cable harness lengths, wire terminations and direct moulding services
  • Alternative connector body materials: anodized aluminum, SS316, or titanium
  • Certified hydrostatic pressure testing to customer-specified ocean depths
  • Custom bulkhead thread lengths, O-ring configurations and locking sleeve options
