4 Fiber 2 Power Photoelectric Underwater Connector -- Hybrid Fiber Optic Power | IP68 | 7000m | High Density

Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd 4-fiber + 2-power hybrid photoelectric underwater connector (4F2P). Four SM or MM fiber channels plus 2 power contacts. IP68, 7000m. For complex fiber sensor networks and ROV systems.

Product introduction

4-Fiber + 2-Power Photoelectric Underwater Connector (4F2P)

The 4F2P configuration from Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd doubles the fiber capacity of the 2F2P -- providing four independent fiber channels (two full-duplex links, or four simplex channels) alongside two power contacts in a single wet-mateable body. This is the connector of choice for complex ROV systems, multi-sensor subsea instrument clusters, and oceanographic observatories where more than one independent fiber communication link must share a single pressure housing penetration.

Rated to 7,000 m depth, IP68, with zirconia ceramic ferrules and a 600 psig hydrostatic pressure test on every batch.

Fiber Channel Assignment Options

  • 2x full-duplex: Channels 1+2 = Link A (TX/RX); Channels 3+4 = Link B (TX/RX) -- two independent Ethernet or serial fiber links
  • 4x simplex: Each channel independent -- e.g., 4 separate sensor fluorescence outputs or 4 analog optical channels
  • 1x duplex + 2x simplex: Mixed -- one communications link plus two monitoring channels

Applications

  • ROV systems with separate fiber video link + fiber control link through one penetration
  • Subsea multi-sensor packages with multiple fiber measurement channels and shared power
  • Oceanographic observatory nodes with redundant fiber backbone links
  • AUV with fiber-optic gyro (FOG) output + fiber comms + power through one hull penetration
  • Subsea spectrometer or fluorometer arrays with multiple optical channels

Frequently Asked Questions

Can both duplex links in a 4F2P connector support Gigabit Ethernet simultaneously?

Yes. Each fiber channel is optically independent. Two simultaneous 1000BASE-SX (MM) or 1000BASE-LX (SM) links can operate through the same 4F2P connector without interference between channels.

Is the 4F2P available with mixed SM and MM fiber in the same connector?

Mixed SM/MM in one connector is technically possible but not recommended -- SM and MM ferrules require different transceivers and have different numerical aperture, which can introduce alignment loss. Specify all-SM or all-MM per connector for reliable performance.

Can I order a 4F4P variant (4 fiber + 4 power)?

Yes. The 4F4P configuration is available on request. Contact sales@rovcable.com with your power current, voltage, and fiber type requirements for a custom quotation.
