Product introduction

Micro Circular Underwater Connectors -- 10, 12, and 16 Contact Series | IP68 | 7000m Depth

Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd supplies MCBH and MCIL micro circular underwater connectors in 10-contact, 12-contact, and 16-contact configurations -- the high-contact-density options of the Micro Circular platform. These connectors carry more conductors in the same compact Micro Circular shell, making them ideal for ROV camera systems, multi-axis thrusters, and complex sensor suites where space is constrained but many circuits must pass through a single penetration point.

Rated to 7,000 m, IP68, PEEK insulator. Direct drop-in replacement for SubConn® MCBH10, MCBH12, MCBH16, MCIL10, MCIL12, MCIL16.

Contact Count Comparison: 10 / 12 / 16

Contact Count Typical Use Case Current per Contact Models Available

Applications

  • 10-pin: ROV camera head power + video + PTZ control (combined into single penetration)
  • 10-pin: Multi-axis manipulator sensor feedback + actuation power
  • 12-pin: Sonar head with multi-channel signal + auxiliary power bus
  • 12-pin: Oceanographic glider sensor array interconnect
  • 16-pin: AUV internal backplane connector for power distribution + serial data buses
  • 16-pin: Complex subsea control module -- all signals on one penetration to reduce housing complexity

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the 16-pin contact current derated to 5 A?

With 16 contacts in the same shell diameter, thermal dissipation per contact is reduced. The 5 A per contact limit ensures the connector runs safely within its thermal rating at full simultaneous load. For higher-current circuits, use a 10-pin or fewer connector in parallel.

Are mixed use (power + signal) wiring schemes supported?

Yes. A standard practice is to assign 2-4 contacts for power supply at rated current, then route all remaining contacts for signal/data. Contact our engineering team for a recommended pin assignment for your specific application.

Can a 12-pin MCBH mate with a SubConn OEM 12-pin MCIL?

Yes, direct cross-compatibility. Our MCBH12 shell, thread, and contact dimensions are identical to SubConn MCBH12. The mating face and thread pattern allow direct mating with OEM SubConn MCIL12 connectors in the field.
