Micro Right Angle Underwater Connectors -- MCBHRA 2 3 4 5 6 8 Contact | SubConn Compatible | IP68 | 7000m

Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd MCBHRA right-angle micro circular underwater connectors, 2-8 contact, IP68, 7000m, 90-degree body. SubConn MCBHRA drop-in compatible.

Product introduction

Micro Right Angle Underwater Connectors -- MCBHRA Series (2 to 8 Contact)

The MCBHRA Series from Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd is the right-angle (90-degree) bulkhead variant of the industry-standard Micro Circular connector platform. Designed for ROV chassis panels and compact subsea housings where straight bulkhead connectors cannot be accommodated due to depth constraints behind the panel wall.

Available in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 contacts. Rated to 7,000 m depth, IP68 sealed, and fully interchangeable with SubConn® MCBHRA connectors -- no panel modifications required.

  • IP rating: IP68 -- continuous seawater submersion
  • Voltage rating: 600 V AC/DC
  • Current per contact: Up to 10 A
  • Shell material: Hard-anodized aluminium (standard) / Titanium Grade 5 (option)
  • Insulator: PEEK
  • Contacts: Gold-plated copper alloy
  • Sealing: Dual O-ring per contact + face seal
  • Hydrostatic test: 600 psig, signed certificate with each shipment
  • Operating temperature: -20 to +85 degC
  • Compatibility: SubConn MCBHRA (pin-for-pin, thread-for-thread)

Advantages of Right-Angle Design

  • Up to 60% depth reduction behind panel: Frees critical internal housing space versus a straight MCBH bulkhead.
  • Cable exits parallel to panel face: Eliminates sharp cable bend at the connector rear, extending flex-cable fatigue life significantly.
  • Same wet-mating mechanism: Spring-loaded contacts displace seawater on mating -- identical performance to straight MCBH series.
  • Direct SubConn MCBHRA replacement: Same panel hole, same thread -- retrofit existing equipment without any modification.

Applications

  • High-density ROV front and rear chassis panels
  • Compact AUV payload sections and pressure housings
  • Subsea junction boxes with limited internal depth
  • Underwater camera and lighting housings
  • Oceanographic instruments with side-exit cable routing
  • Offshore subsea sensor pod panels

Frequently Asked Questions

Does MCBHRA mate with standard MCIL in-line connectors?

Yes. The MCBHRA contact face is identical to the straight MCBH, so it mates with any standard MCIL connector of the same contact count -- no adapter required.

Is the panel hole pattern the same as SubConn MCBHRA?

Yes. Identical thread and flange dimensions -- no panel drilling modification required when retrofitting from SubConn MCBHRA.

Is titanium shell available?

Yes. Titanium Grade 5 shell available for all MCBHRA contact counts on request. Typical lead time 2-3 weeks from order confirmation.

Applications

  • ROV and AUV underwater vehicle systems requiring compact, reliable connectivity
  • Subsea sensor instrumentation, oceanographic data acquisition platforms
  • Underwater camera, video and LED lighting systems at varying depths
  • Ocean bottom seismic systems and marine renewable energy installations
  • Naval systems, diving equipment and offshore infrastructure monitoring

Customization Options

  • Custom cable harness lengths, wire terminations and direct moulding services
  • Alternative connector body materials: anodized aluminum, SS316, or titanium
  • Certified hydrostatic pressure testing to customer-specified ocean depths
  • Custom bulkhead thread lengths, O-ring configurations and locking sleeve options
