Square connectors offer easier panel alignment (less rotation required), more compact grid spacing for multi-port panels, and visual orientation indication -- reducing assembly errors in low-visibility subsea environments.
The square body itself prevents rotation when panel-mounted. An optional retention clip provides additional positive lock-out for vibration-prone installations.
