Product introduction

Metal Shell 2000 Series Underwater Connector -- Standard and Micro Configurations

The Metal Shell 2000 series extends the Metal Shell range with both standard large-contact (2, 3, 4-pin) and micro small-contact (10 and 12-pin) configurations in a single connector family. This dual-capability series is from Shanghai Kabel Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd and covers both high-current power applications (standard contacts) and high-density signal applications (micro contacts) within the same IP68-rated stainless steel shell format.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between standard and micro contacts in the 2000 Series?

Standard contacts (2-4 pin) use larger pins rated to 25 A for power circuits. Micro contacts (10-12 pin) use smaller precision pins rated to 5 A, enabling higher contact density in the same shell diameter for signal-intensive applications.

Can micro and standard contacts be mixed in one connector?

Yes -- hybrid configurations mixing standard power contacts and micro signal contacts in one shell are available as a custom option. Contact us with your circuit mix requirements.

Is the Micro-12 suitable for RS-485 or CAN bus applications?

Yes -- the micro contacts easily handle RS-485, CAN bus, and other low-voltage differential signal pairs. Shielded wiring is recommended for EMI-sensitive data buses.

Applications

  • Extreme deep-sea environments requiring rugged metal-shell connector protection
  • Pressure vessel feed-through and airtight cabin connector applications
  • Subsea equipment housings where connector structural strength is critical
  • Offshore drilling and production systems in high-vibration environments
  • Naval underwater systems requiring MIL-spec grade connector durability

Customization Options

  • Stainless steel, titanium or specialized alloy shell materials for corrosion resistance
  • Custom flange mounting patterns and bulkhead sealing configurations
  • Customer-specified O-ring materials for extreme temperature or chemical exposure
  • Certified pressure testing to maximum rated depth with material certifications
